Just in case you are not familiar with this website, you need to check it out. It is a dictionary website that lists over 30 dictionaries. I rarely use it to actually look up the definition of a word; however, I use it to see whether something is a word or to check to see the form of a word.
For example, if I want to see whether "swap meet" is one word or two, I put it into onelook.com both ways. It says it is two in 22 or so dictionaries and one in only 4. So I conclude it is two words.
If the dictionaries are evenly split on onelook, then I go to MW to make the final decision.
