  1. Reminds me of the time our office manager tried to correct another reporter’s transcript. Mindful of the country’s spelling, she told the reporter it was “a pre-Colombian artifact,” with an “O.” Overhearing this, I had to step in and say the word means “before Columbus, before 1492,” so it’s spelled pre-Columbian, with a “U.” Which sent her running to the dictionary. 🙂

      Love it. This came from a post on FB, in which the person was asking about something else in the sentence but had the guy from Colombia with a heavy accent as “Columbian.” Yikes!!
